Uomo veramente speciale, oserei dire unico: sensibile e medianico, romantico e trasgressivo, imprevedibile e anticonformista.

I was thrilled to see the site Angelo Savelli.com and I can't wait totell my friend about it.
Angelo was a good friend of mine from 1979 till his death.
I have many great photo's of him in his NY studio and in Arlington, Texas where I first met him. I also have a video tape of him talking about his war - time experience with a German soldier.
This is the only video that I know of Savelli. I also have about eight prints of his that I would like to find a buyer for as I am afraid that they will be ruined in an upcoming move.
Who are you and what is your connection with Angelo?
I look forward to your reply.
Sincerely,
Tim Ballard

This is in response to your Angelo Savelli homepage.
I never knew him myself, though I met him once, and I grew up withsome of his pieces on my walls.
My mother met him in Venice in about 1951 and they kept in touch for some time.
She was a fashion designer and travelled to Italy and France and she and savelli also met in Rome, where she had a lot of happy memories from the artists´collective at Via Margutta.
In 1963 mymother and I went to the USA and we met briefly with savelli, who showed us his atelier and also gave us another piece - one of his white things - that now hangs on my wall.
My mother has since suffered from a depression that won´t go away and she has lately begun to think back to her younger and happier days, spending a lot of time reading Savelli´s leters and looking at his pieces.
I printed out your pages for her which made her both sentimental and happy.
I know that somewhere on the net I found reference toan art book by and about Savelli. Do you know about this one? I would like to be able o present to myother somemore savelli material , to let her re-live a more joyful period of her life.

Thank you for taking time to let me know of Angelos passing.... I have thought of him over the years but neglected to let him know how much he meant to me.
From what I have read on the website... he was loved and chrished by many.
I will keep you e-mail address... as we plan to go to Italy, hopefully in the near future. I will let you know, possibly we could share a glass of wine in his honor.
Respectfully, Maggie Soliz
